Country House in Bosnia and Herzegovina

http://blog.2modern.com

What does the perfect intersection between traditional, country style and modernism look like? Like this incredible home by dva arhitekta located in Bijaca, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The approach of the proposal was to develop a residential complex in strong connection to the context. Located in a remote, poorly inhabitated part of West Herzegovina canton, the site stretches over 35 000 square meters of wild landscape, bounded by strong stone walls. The ambient relies on tradition, where places like this provided social contact and events. All three units, six buildings alltogether, are carefully placed to gain views according to client’s wishes. Guarding the entrance, the steward house and auxilliary facility are located.”

Dunton Hot Springs is a small and exclusive resort nestled deep in the San Juan Mountains of the Colorado Rockies. This romantic old mining town resort is a tribute to the American West, offering authentically restored hand-built log cabins with loads of sturdy rustic charm and character. Offering magnificent views of the mountains and the surrounding meadows, each cabin has a distinct character full of unique artifacts and elegant furnishings.Major Ross Cabin was built in the mid 1800’s; Bjoerkmans Cabin is named after the miner who originally built it; Dolores Cabin features a Rajasthan wedding bed; and the Dunton Store Cabin has its own private soaking pool out back. Alas, each cabin also comes with a hefty price tag, starting at $1,200 per night (Ouch!) including all meals and beverages.
