From July 22nd to July 31th 2011, the twelfth edition of the biggest international hot air balloons gathering of the world will be held at Chambley Planet' Air (Meurthe & Moselle - Lorraine - France).
A reputation confirmed in 2009 by holding the record of the “greatest” in-line mass ascent in the world. Three thousand pilots and crews, sixty nations coming from seven continents, are awaited.
Every odd year since 1989, the event, which gathers way beyond the hot air balloons, the gas balloons and all flying machines, became an irresistible meeting. It attracts more than four hundred thousand visitors in ten days and nearly 175 partners.
In nearly 500 acres, mornings and evenings, the multicolored bubbles will take-off. An astonishing air ballet!
In addition to these massive takes-off, balloon pilots will dispute five high level competitions, but also the New Century Cup (gas balloon), the night glow, without forgetting special shapes for kids and grown-ups.
On the ground, in the four villages specially implemented for the occasion, visitors will have the possibility to discover exhibitions, workshops and animations turned around aeronautics, space and astronomy. The whole things in three dimensions : virtual, dynamic and static. Like the past years, entrance and parking are free for public thanks to the sponsors.
