Unidentified crimes of the Wehrmacht in Greece
An original research brings to light the atrocities elite corps of the German Army during the Occupation,Anastasis Vistonitis-70 years ago, on September 1, 1939, sitting in a bar of 51st Street in Manhattan, New York, the poet G.Ch. Odense felt the smell of imminent death. It was the day that started the Second World War. After six years, with the end, humanity would count 50 million dead. What happened in Linz, Austria, and what a huge picture of him created the "psychopathic god" as he calls Hitler a poet? Seven decades later, still coming to light for the season, which remained undiscovered in the archives. And most naturally referred to in Europe. For the heavy toll paid by our country both during the war and the period of German-Italian and Bulgarian occupation and civil war that followed were written thousands of pages, to the point that no one is sure that there is no informed side and nothing who has not been said. However, the two-volume work Herman Frank Mager Aimatovammeno entelvais  released this year contradicts our too-happily. Apart from the new fields and the abundance of elements produced in historical research makes clear, through the factual information it contains, this is where the guilt of postwar Germany, namely the collective responsibility for Nazi crimes, we would say something similar to original sin.The Mayer proves that the whole Nazi military apparatus was involved in crimes that were not only-or primarily-the SS who committed and that even elite colleges known for their military ethic charged with criminal acts of incredible brutality. So he decided to record the history of the 1st Mountain Division and the 22nd Mountain Corps, reporting extensively on criminal activity, in Greece from 1943 to 1944.
Historian by coincidence                                         The results of a company's Wehrmacht in Epirus,

1943 Hans Frank Mayer was not a professional historian. Strain the automobile, was involved by chance in the field of historical research. His father, a reservist in the German army officer who worked in logistics for military railways Wehrmacht, came to Greece to maintain the rail network. In November 1942 received an order to repair the bridge Gorgopotamos who earlier set off the forces of the Greek Resistance in collaboration with the British. The arrested ELAS, the People's Court passed the  village of  Spercheiados along with 30 other German and Austrian soldiers interpreter Trouth Ranvain executed in the village cemetery.

Years later his son wanted to know what had happened to his father, who had been considered officially missing. When he discovered the truth, he found his grave and brought the bones in Germany. This research, however, has prompted another major survey, which covered the activities of the occupation forces in Greece and especially the Wehrmacht. This lasted until the end of his life Mayer. Fruit of the books were highly significant for the period as research.Human destinies in the Greek national liberation struggle, the horror of Burn, from Vienna to Kalavrita, the traces of the 117th Division commando Serbia & GREECE and finally the monumental two-volume book  Aimatovammeno entelvais , did not live to see it printed in Greek, since he fell victim of a road accident on April 12, 2009.

To overcome the trauma of the death of his father, Mayer wrote the book Anazitisi (searching) .Human destinies Greek national liberation struggle in 1941-1944.To book translated and published in Greek. But then a priest of the village cut off in Arta, where on August 17, 1943 the Wehrmacht executed 317 civilians, among them 172 women, two priests and 13 children once a year, wrote that the German soldiers killed brought the hat and the sleeves of their uniforms as distinctive flower of the alpine plant edelweiss. That letter, Mayer writes, was the opportunity to explore the history of this elite body, whose origins are in the First World War.
The creation of the 1st Mountain DivisionIn 1914 the German Reich noted that because it did not have elite units, and even mountain-capable to fight against the French Alpine, should create a special body that will constitute the best soldiers of other units who had won the Western Front war. So we built the Alpine House, which has large military successes. Eighteen years later, when the Third Reich was building the Wehrmacht, it was decided on June 1, 1935 to create a corresponding mountain brigade. First commander was Colonel Ludwig Kimpler, 45, who made the most elite body of the German army. The action throughout the course of World War II has been impressive since participated in almost all major businesses: From the invasion of Poland and Operation Barbarossa (the invasion against the Soviet Union) as the fighting in Kharkov and advance the Caucasus. When the action of the 1st Mountain Division in May 1943 moved to the Balkans, Yugoslavia and then Greece, the war on the Third Reich seemed lost. Most of the bloodiest war edelweiss cover a single year in which the 1st Mountain Division and the later 22nd Mountain Corps were active in Greece, Epirus par excellence but also in Corfu and Cephalonia, which committed one of the greatest crimes of war The massacre of prisoners of the Italian corps Listen. The racist poison                                               Resistance hanged by the Germans

1943 The density of the book is such that the reader needs to read slowly and carefully in order not to perish in the sea of information, names and statistics. There is no information that a writer not to cross-check and not check it thoroughly. Huge is inevitable and the volume of footnotes. Our extensive and exhaustive research of Mayer on archival sources, of course not limited only to Greek and German archives, but extends to the corresponding Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland and the USA. Further enriched by numerous interviews that nearly all the author got from survivors of the era.Answers will be found and the controversial role of Napoleon Zervas, and for the criminal activities of the Security Battalions on the cooperation of the Chams to the occupying forces and their participation in executions of civilians in Thesprotia. Furthermore, participation in the crimes, although to a limited extent, Italian and Bulgarian occupation forces. Maps and numerous photographs (many of which come from the archives of the Wehrmacht and was unknown until now) accompany this excellent two-volume work. The Mayer does not fail to cite features excerpts from letters or reports of officers of the Wehrmacht, where we see how far the poison of racism had permeated the army (like the people) of Nazi Germany. Those who executed civilians did not apply only orders but I think so miasms eliminated, sub-human, beings who were not permitted because of the appearance or behavior, including human beings. Considered sub-human, not only adults but also children, sowing of slaves who do not deserve to occupy space on this earth.

Notable are those reported by Mayer for the demands of war reparations to Greece, where he writes among other things, the following: "The Greek claims for direct and indirect damage of war and particularly the requirement to repay the" loan "which was the blackmail Wehrmacht by the Greek government in 1942 to cover the costs of occupation, were specifically exempted from the agreement in 1960 (SS: the agreement provided for payment of a total of only 115 million DM). Under present circumstances, and without take account of interest, the value of the loan is more than 5 billions euro.

Particularly important is also the conclusions of the postwar "fate" of the protagonists. In most (from Germany) were small as "funny" sentences, in our country but there were strains of the Security Battalions not only punished but also "rewarded". Typical is the chapter's second volume, which refers to the executions of hostages in Agrinio in April and July 1944. Responsible for the execution of those was the commander of the Security Battalions Toliopoulos George, who after the war careers Greek army. "After the war," writes Mayer, "the Toliopoulos made a career in the Greek army. On May 30, 1948, the day he was promoted to lieutenant colonel "because of the heroic acts of the battlefield," stop and conceal its activities from GES and resume entries in the registry. The period from 1939 to 1948 was forever empty. A year later, followed by promotion to colonel. The Toliopoulos died on February 7, 1962 at a military hospital in Athens. The massacre of Italians in CephaloniaTransporting bone cleared from Kefalonia in Bari, Italy

1 March 1953 Many of THOSE who saw the movie the Hollywood STUPID mOVIE The Mandolin of Captain Koreli, would know the facts that occurred in Kefalonia in 1943 and will become even wiser movie.I watching the movie, however, helped to make better known the dramatic facts upon which based, and they comprise one of the biggest crimes committed by the Wehrmacht during World war.Much of 200 pages devoted to the Mayer plan for the so-called "disarmament of the Italian corps" that was in Corfu and Cephalonia, which describes the background, the movement of players, the climate of the era and the situation on the island. In July 1943 the troops of the Allied (Anglo-American) landed in Italia. To Mussolini regime collapsed on 8 September the same year the Italian government of Marshal Badoglio signed the treaty but not allies. The Badoglio declared war simultaneously against hitler. When at the end of that month the men of the Italian division of Listen that resided in Kefalonia refused to hand over their weapons to the Germans, Hitler ordered the Wehrmacht to destroy them "traitors." The Germans, though not easily crushed the resistance of the Italians, the who had no air cover.  Final report was tragic. In battlefields killed 1,315 Italians and 25 Slovenians. From those who surrendered, the Germans executed 5,189, while others were lost in 3000 to the sea. Also information on the how these lost 3,000 men remain a question.Of course though is that many of the ships which were loaded at mines fell over which was full of the sea around the island, and although, as Mayer says, is not confirmed, many the shipwrecked Germans may be performed with gunmachines.Certain is also that many of the corpses of executed prisoners ashore, the Germans threw them in the sea.The others, not what threw them in mass graves, the left to rot in ravines. "How many exactly died will not be able to determine with certainty when" Mayer concludes.

Αgain Germany with Merkel this time in powerMurdering economic 9,000,000 Greeks.

Spiegel: «Merkel is to blame for the collapse of Greece"Posted by on 27/4/10 • anixneuseis categorized as Featured ArticlesSevere criticism of the record and the procrastination of the Chancellor, Angela Merkel, the handling of the Greek economic crisis, did the German magazine Der Spiegel. The Greeks themselves to blame for the crisis. But in the mishap, the German government to further worsen the tragedy of the country, preaching and making tentative promises for help that German taxpayers should no longer put his hand deep into your pocket, you should charge primarily to Chancellor Merkel, "says the German magazine continues:" 'That could go wrong did. " The saying is referring to Murphy's Law came up with the full implementation of economic policy of the Eurozone."On the one hand are the Greeks and the statistics that have not yet managed to control it. On the other side are the Germans, who like to prevent a quick and clear European response to financial crisis in Greece. With the attitude of Germany, led the cost of the solution to dystheorita heights. At the same time, representatives of political parties and parliamentarians appear to give advice to the Greeks, ranging from drastic cuts in wages, to the immediate declaration of bankruptcy, even leaving the euro area. Yes, explain this word radicalism that Greece must be 'economically viable'. Essentially, however, explained that the majority of Germans are not prepared after years of austerity and declining purchasing power will be sacrificed for Greece.

"Stagy reluctance of BerlinThese two factors - the statistical error of Greece and stagy reluctance of the federal government to help the Mediterranean countries - is a clear invitation for speculators to bet on the collapse of the southern European country. This explains why they reached the heights of the Greek sprent. Meanwhile, the Greek government should pay for the refinancing of loans as high interest, despite a tax increase and a drastic reduction of wages, can not cope without outside help. "In fact, Spiegel notes that with the help of the German government "came what everyone wanted in any way to prevent - which could actually be prevented: that Greece would ask the help of other European economies. It emphasizes that the arguments of Berlin did not "stand" longer. Complains is not the role of international credit rating firms, and after their deterioration in the Greek economy began a domino of speculative attacks."Merkel has blocked a solution '

"But the populist argument that the majority of Germans are against economic aid to Greece, started from the same German government. The worst is that the same Chancellor Merkel, blocked the only way to solve the problem in order to save billions of euros. This road had the following way: The EU could in a responsible and straightforward manner, start to assume joint responsibility for an equal member of the Common Market. Within this project will include the decision to guarantee an extreme case of payment of loans in Greece.Such a declaration would be difficult from the beginning the work of speculators and prevent the tragic course of Greek bonds. Rates for Greece would remain under the feasible. The Spiegel points out that such a proclamation would really save the Greek economy and would not have to bear the German taxpayer. "Credibility and transparency are rewarded.""Cowardly German government"

"The current situation is different. The subjugation of the federal government market and cowardice in the face of the yellow press (such as reports of Bild and Focus), will cost dearly in the German budget and the German taxpayer, "said the Spiegel and concludes:" The assistance is now unnecessary and no longer helps the barking of the German government. All it accomplishes is to assists more than speculators. In the worst case, you will sink in the maze of speculative attacks and countries such as Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Italy. This was the end of the Monetary Union. Murphy's Law greets you.

Now I, as an ordinary citizen, I wonder ..... who is actually the worst nightmare of them both;

Cicmany & Gingerbread Houses - Folk Architecture

Village Cicmany - Slovakia
The distinctive village of Cicmany lies in the valley of the Strazovske Hillsm almost next to the spring of the River Rajcianka. The village is known for its historic and unique architecture - painted, wooden houses. . In order to preserve them, in 1977 the lower part of the village was declared a historical reserve of folk architecture
The architecture is reminiscent of a "gingerbread house", mainly due to the ornamental decorations of the outside walls of the houses. These objects are valuable proof of technical development, master's skills and the aesthetic feeling of the inhabitants. The geometric decorations are approximately 200 years old. The simple ornaments were painted using white lime which also had the function of conservation and protection The village of Cicmany is the highest village in the Zilian region. The first note of the village is from 1272.
