Minimalism: Less is more!

Minimalism is a trend in architecture is characterized by absolute simplicity of line and started the New York of the '70s, but his roots are in Europe and found in the manifesto titled "Less is more" of the German Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe, one of the leading architects of the 20th century.
The Second World War forced Van Der Rohe emigrated to the U.S. to get U.S. citizenship later. In the late '30s, the Van Der Rohe was the director of the famous Bauhaus school in Germany where he executed his first ideas about clean lines and the application of artistic concepts for an
Industrial design with personality.
The basic principles of minimalism dictate the use of pure colors, the prevalence of all parties, using simple and geometric lines with mathematical precision, working with industrial materials in the most neutral way possible and planning on rough surfaces. The result sets this style in one word is "purity".
Minimalism attaches great importance to the ecological space and materials.Focus in attention to simple and clean lines. One of the characteristics that define this current trend is for ultimate monochrome floor, wall and ceiling. Ultimately it is these accessories that give a sense of color space. In one room there is a minimalist white and all shades that gives us the range. We must not forget that White has a wide range of tones.

Materials
One of the changes in design resulting from the minimalism was the use of materials such as cement, glass, steel.

Colors
As for accessories, minimalism does not use fabric stamped on chairs or cushions. All colors are clean, which gives a more contemporary feel in contrast to the baroque style of the 19th century.

The feeling of unity
For minimalism all materials must compose and describe an entity. This is concentrated in the minimaliston adage "all part of all."
With time, the minimalism that was born in the late 70s came to maturity in the 80's to the point that brought not only influence the architecture and design and painting, fashion and music.
