250 years from birth of Madam Tussauds

Madame Tussaud was born on December 1, 1761 and became 250 years old ... had he been alive naturally. He won his reputation relocate to Britain. This is the Frenchwoman Marie Grosholtz who served in the court of Marie Antoinette.
Her father, Joseph Grosholtz, was killed during the seven-year War, and her mother worked at home of Dr. Philippe Curtius. Curtius was a doctor and he made models with anatomical details. He moved in Paris in 1765 and was followed two years late by Marie and her mother.
The first exhibition with works of Curtius, took place in 1770 and have taught Tussaud the art of wax. The first wax figure was Jean Jacques Rousseau, in 1778, and among other things, created the replicas of Voltaire and Franklin. In Paris, Tussaud maintained relations both with rebels (Robespierre) and the royalists. Lived at Versailles.
 On July 12, 1789 the wax heads of Neker and of Duke of Orleans, who made Curtius, transferred to a protest. However, despite its reputation, Tussaud was arrested for his kind of feelings to the King and in prison was condemned together with Josephine. Will decapitate to the guillotine, and her head was shaved. But survived because of her talent to create funeral masks of the guillotine victims, many of whom have been friends (Mara, Marie Antoinette, Robespierre).
 After the death of Curtius in 1794 the collection of waxworks was bequeathed to Marie. The last married in 1795 with Francois Tussaud. They had even two children.
In 1802 Marie Tussaud gone to London with one of his son, Joseph. The first permanent exhibition was on Baker Street in 1835 and in 1838 wrote his memoirs. He died in his sleep in London at the age of 88 on April 16, 1850.
Today, the Museum of Madame Tussaud has expanded to other cities (except London). So, there are exhibits in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Copenhagen, New York and now in Shanghai.
